3LD PROGRAMS
Instead of charging for both space and equipment as well as resources, at 3LD Art & Technology Center, we only charge for time and we subsidize that cost through Grants. We also use the money earned from our design work towards making your experience more sustainable. 3LD isn't about taking money from artists, 3LD is about giving as much as possible at the lowest possible rate to artists. Every artist who comes through here is paving the way for the next guy; making it more affordable and more accessible. That's real rad.
When you are given an estimate at 3LD, the cost is often factoring a split with our company.
We strive for low or no-cost because we're a producing entity as well. We know how it is!
When working in other spaces, external organizations are charged for space, equipment rentals, as well as trucks to bring in that equipment. The project is rushed to cut down on cost, but here, we have eliminated much of those expenses. No truck rentals. No additional lights. No additional sound. No rush to bring in overhire that you don't know. We've got pretty much everything you need here and it's included in your use of the space. We believe that the time to develop your work is essential, and we strive to maximize that for you. We also encourage long-term Residencies so that a project can be fully explored and you don't cut corners in your development. At any given time, we have Residencies in the spaces usually ranging between one and three months. Explore! Learn! Develop! Experiment! We want to help you to grow. Space rental is the tip of the iceberg for your costs and we keep your whole picture in mind!
